Liverpool Vs Everton 2020 Fa Cup

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hails 'sensationally good' performance in FA Cup win

Eighteen-year-old Curtis Jones scores wonder goal as Liverpool's reserves and juniors impress

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised his team's "sensationally good" performance in their FA Cup win over Everton on Sunday. The Reds secured a 1-0 victory at Anfield thanks to an 18th-minute wonder goal from Curtis Jones.

Klopp made nine changes to his team from the one that beat Tottenham in the Premier League on Thursday, but he was still able to field a strong side that included the likes of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah. And the German was delighted with what he saw from his players.

"I'm really happy with the performance," Klopp said. "I thought we were sensationally good. We controlled the game from the first minute to the last. We created a lot of chances and we could have scored more goals. But I'm not complaining. We got the win and that's the most important thing."

Klopp was particularly impressed with Jones, who made his first start for Liverpool in the FA Cup. The 18-year-old winger scored a stunning goal to give the Reds the lead, and he was a constant threat to the Everton defence throughout the game.

"Curtis was outstanding," Klopp said. "He's a very talented player and he's still so young. He's got a lot of potential and I'm excited to see how he develops."

Liverpool will now face Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The game will be played at Anfield on January 26.
